Empowerment
Welcome to Minority Matters.
A charity focused on community engagement through educational projects.
To work in partnership with communities, to promote social inclusion and child safeguarding. Our objective is to empower young people from isolated communities through engagement projects that empower the parents and inspire the young. We want to ensure young people are able to fulfill their potential. We believe this can be achieved through encouraging the aspirations of the young and giving parents the tools with which they can support their children to succeed through education and access to employment.

We empower young people to improve their own position by building confidence and a positive self-image.

We focus on safeguarding of children in minority communities.

Who we are
Minority Matters was established to tackle poverty, educational and employment inequalities and social isolation. We are a grassroots organisation established and led by representatives of the community we support.
We have a wide mandate in terms of the support we provide, however, we specialise in providing support to vulnerable families with children and young people who are gang-groomed into county lines and at risk of knife crime.

Community Eid party
A resident-led Eid celebration for children, many neurodiverse or with disabilities. An Eid celebration organised by two local women residents and supported by Minority Matters, bringing together 30 children and young people, many of whom are neurodiverse or have disabilities.
