This summer, we brought together 25 children aged 4–11 and 13 local mothers for an active day out at Sobell Leisure Centre, engaging 38 participants in total.

The children enjoyed the trampoline park and soft-play area, providing opportunities to stay active, explore new activities and build friendships. The day ended with a shared pizza lunch at a local park, bringing families together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.

With many holiday programmes focused on older age groups, younger children can miss out on these opportunities. This initiative helped address cost barriers and social isolation by creating an inclusive experience for younger children and their mothers, supporting family well-being and strengthening community connections.
